Hey guys, I wanted to take a minute to talk about my collection of rare oldies music on Spotify. I’ve created a new “collections” section on Google+. My collection is geared towards “seasoned folk;” people who are in the age range of 40s through 70s group. Perhaps the 80s age group as well. I love “Google Collections” because it spreads out like a photo album, and you’re enjoys visual memories as well as music. It’s also great because I don’t have to start and manage another website. As a child, my grandfather played a huge role in introducing me to a wealth of great and popular classic artists. From The Platters, to Otis Redding, and from Ken Boothe to Byron Lee. In addition to that, I was also born an 80s kid, so my taste also include Madonna, Tracy Chapman, and the Prince era. I love my grandfather for giving me an awesome sense of musical culture that so few people have. Now, that digital streaming is finally here to stay, I can easily find and stream almost all of my favorite old school music within just a few key strokes! You can do it too for FREE!!! And the bet part is, it’s legal. Whatever we don’t find on Spotify, you can bet that 90% of the time it will be on YouTube (unless the song you’re interested is soo obscure, or not heavily known to U.S. or UK culture). All we basically need, is the memories so that we can actually go look for them. So, give up using those antiquated torrents for music (it’s too much damn trouble, and it’s not safe), and follow me on a Spotify adventure through my childhood memories!! I will share with you classics no longer heard on mainstream radio today. Music memories spanning the last 50-60 years across many genres, including Ska/Rock Steady, and easy listening. My tastes are extremely eclectic and diverse. Are you ready? Do you think you can handle it? Let’s see how much music “you’re into?” Everybody should know by now that Spotify offers free accounts. All the seasoned folk should be using it, you’ll never have to spend money on another album again. For best results, free users should use the desktop software. So here is the link, follow me, enjoy your stay and the nostalgia!! A note to parents, if you’d like to introduce your kids to more musical culture, simply give them my link. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
